However, the rubber band, upon release, contracted faster than anticipated and wrapped around the operator's left ankle, resulting in a return to launch position at approximately 200 mph.\n\n## Damage Report\n\n- Operator: compressed to 6 inches tall (temporary)\n- Rubber band: intact (reusable)\n- Mesa anchor point #2: minor crack\n- Operator dignity: not recoverable\n\n## Lessons Learned\n\nRubber bands are elastic. This means they pull things back. We should have anticipated this.\n\n## Recommendation\n\nSwitch to a one-way propulsion system.
