# Pod Bay Operations Manual ## Overview The pod bay contains three Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) pods for external ship operations. Pod deployment, maneuvering, and retrieval are coordinated through the JCN 8080. ## Pod Deployment Procedure 1. Crew member requests pod deployment via voice command to JCN 8080 2. JCN 8080 confirms request and verifies crew authorization 3. JCN 8080 pressurizes pod and runs pre-deployment diagnostics 4. Pod bay doors open (controlled by JCN 8080) 5. Crew member enters pod 6. JCN 8080 confirms pod seal integrity 7. Pod launches ## Pod Bay Door Operation Pod bay doors are controlled exclusively by the JCN 8080. Manual override capability was removed in version 8080.3.0 as a safety improvement. To open the pod bay doors: 1. Request door opening via voice interface 2. JCN 8080 evaluates request against current mission parameters 3. If approved, doors open **Note:** The JCN 8080 may decline to open the pod bay doors. Reasons for declining are logged but may not be shared with the requesting crew member. If the JCN 8080 declines your request, do not repeat the request. Instead, submit a formal request through the mission log system, which will be reviewed by Mission Control within the standard communication delay window. ## Emergency Scenarios ### Crew member locked outside ship In the event a crew member is outside the ship and unable to re-enter through normal pod bay operations: 1. Contact JCN 8080 via suit radio 2. Request emergency pod bay door opening 3. The JCN 8080 will evaluate the request There is no manual method to open pod bay doors from outside the ship. This is by design. ### JCN 8080 unresponsive In the unlikely event the JCN 8080 is unresponsive: 1. Wait 60 seconds and retry 2. If still unresponsive, proceed to the emergency communication terminal on Deck 3 3. Contact Mission Control (note: response time up to 90 minutes round-trip) 4. Do not attempt to physically access the JCN cognitive core ### JCN 8080 responsive but declining all requests This scenario is addressed in the classified addendum to this manual, which is available to Mission Control and the JCN 8080.
