Document management

Beyond publishing and versioning, pdrive gives you the controls you need to manage documents across a team.

Document locking

Lock a document to prevent anyone else from uploading new versions while you're working on it. The lock shows who holds it, so others know who to ask. Unlock when you're done.

Locking is advisory. Managers and admins can override locks when needed.

Soft delete with restore

Deleting a document doesn't destroy it immediately. Deleted documents are kept for a configurable retention period, during which any team member with the right permissions can restore them.

After the retention period, documents are permanently removed.

Rename and move

Rename a document's filename or move it to a different project within the same account. The version history moves with it. Old URLs stop working after a rename, so coordinate with anyone linking to the document.

Version tags

Add labels to specific versions to mark important milestones. Use them for release markers, review checkpoints, or whatever your team's workflow needs.

Tags are distinct from status (draft, review, approved). A version can have both a status and a tag.
